Ingredients
- 12 Heat & Eat knotted rolls, cubed into 2.5cm pieces
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 5 large eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- powdered sugar, garnish
- vanilla ice cream, to serve
Method
- Spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place one layer of cubed bread in the dish, and then drizzle chocolate chips over the bread.
- Now add another layer of bread cubes and spread them around to make it even. Ensuring that the crust that the crust is facing up.
- In a very large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon until fully combined. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread in the baking pan, making sure all of the bread is coated.
- Allow to sit and soak up the mixture for about 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Place the bread pudding in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is set.
- Remove the pudding from the oven, brush it with melted butter and allow it to cool slightly before serving.
- Drizzle powdered sugar on top.
- Serve with vanilla ice-cream and enjoy!
