Serves: 6

Time: 30 minutes


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 80g butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • half red onion, chopped
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon veggie seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine
  • pinch of salt and black pepper
  • 2kg hake, portioned and cleaned
  • 3 cups heavy cream


  1. In a pan, heat oil, and brown hake on both sides. Remove the hake from the pan once done.
  2. Add butter to the pan. Once the butter is melted, add the onion, garlic, green and red peppers and fry.
  3. When the above is fragrant, add the coriander, veggie seasoning, salt and black pepper.
  4. Let it simmer for 5 seconds than add white wine and heavy cream.
  5. Once the sauce becomes heavy, place the hake fillets into it and simmer in an open pot for 5 minutes.
  6. Taste the seasoning and add more if necessary.
  7. Garnish with coriander and lemon and serve.
