HOT CHOCOLATE

Ingredients

  • 60 ml full cream milk
  • 1 teaspoon maizena
  • 100 g good quality dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2.5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 250 ml full cream milk
  • whipped cream to serve
  • chocolate shavings to serve.

Method

  1. In a small bowl whisk 60 ml milk with the Maizena until smooth, and set aside.
  2. Add the milk to a small saucepan on medium heat, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add the Maizena mixture and whisk till combined. Add the cocoa powder and sugar, and whisk till combined.
  4. Add the chocolate pieces to the pan, and whisk till the chocolate has melted.
  5. Whisk for a further 2 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and serve immediately with a dollop of fresh cream and your favourite chocolate shavings.
