ORANGE CHICKEN

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, washed and cut

For the marinade

  • 1 teaspoon freshly chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon crushed green chillies
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon Methi masala
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • ½ small lemon, juiced

Other

  • ½ teaspoon jeera seeds
  • 2 peppercorns
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 tablespoons ghee
  • ½ small onion chopped fine
  • ½ cup fresh cream

Method

  1. In a flat pot on medium high heat, add the ghee, onions and whole spice. Fry until onions turn translucent.
  2. Add the marinated chicken. Mix well.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes without the lid. Then place the lid back on.
  4. Cook until liquid is released from the chicken and starts to thicken.
  5. Add the cream. Give it a good mix. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped dhania and chilli flakes.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
