Miele’s Generation 7000 dishwasher, renowned for its sustainability and efficiency, is now even better. With enhanced wash programmes, redesigned baskets, and additional smart features, these dishwashers deliver superior performance while reducing environmental impact, making every day eco-friendly living more convenient than ever before.

31 August 2024, Johannesburg: As the push for more eco-friendly home appliances continues, Miele’s Generation 7000 dishwashers stand out as among the most sustainable options available. The latest models showcase new wash programs that boost cleaning performance and reduce running time, as well as lowering energy and water consumption. Additionally, the newly designed baskets feature ensures that reusable items, like drinking straws and bottles, are now easier to clean than ever before.

With over 90 years of dishwashing expertise, Miele’s reputation for high-quality, durable appliances remains unmatched. Since its introduction in 2018, the Generation 7000 line has set benchmarks in sustainability and innovation. Sicelo Champion, from Miele South Africa, elaborates: “Sustainability is built into every aspect of the G 7000 series, offering users both exceptional cleaning results and environmental responsibility. Our focus on delivering premium quality and advanced technology is reflected in the enhancements we continue to make – staying true to Miele’s motto “Immer Besser’.”

Improved wash programmes for greater efficiency

For many consumers, the Eco program is often the go-to for minimising energy consumption. However, its longer run-time sometimes deters use. To address this, Miele has introduced new washing programs that provide eco-friendly alternatives to standard options without compromising on cleaning performance. The ComfortWash program, with a temperature of 45°C, is perfect for lightly soiled dishes, while being gentle on delicate glassware. For more stubborn messes, the ComfortWash+ program at 55°C is an efficient yet sustainable solution, offering an eco-friendlier choice compared to the traditional intensive program.

Miele has also introduced the 60-degree PowerWash program, designed to deliver enhanced cleaning and drying performance within just 1.5 hours. The run time can be further shortened to less than one hour with the Extra Quick feature. “We understand that time efficiency is key, especially in today’s fast-paced lifestyle. The new programs are designed to balance sustainability with convenience – providing users with top-tier performance without unnecessary waste,” adds Champion.

Enhanced basket design for reusable items

As more households embrace reusable solutions, Miele has responded with basket redesigns that cater to modern sustainability needs. Whether it’s reusable drinking straws, bottles, or snack containers, these items now have optimised placements in the dishwasher. The new StrawClean feature, exclusive to the G 7000 series, offers specialised compartments for drinking straws. Additionally, redesigned holders in the lower basket ensure that reusable bottles, small items like lids, and even larger cookware, can all find secure and efficient storage for thorough cleaning.

“Consumers are increasingly opting for reusable items, and we’ve adapted our design to align with these lifestyle changes. Our basket innovations are aimed at offering both functionality and flexibility while maintaining Miele’s signature performance,” says Champion.

Smart features for smarter savings

With sustainability in focus, Miele has introduced smart features that encourage eco-friendly usage. The EcoFeedback function now provides users with real-time insights into water and electricity consumption, helping them optimise their choices. This is complemented by the Consumption Dashboard in the Miele app, which tracks program performance and offers tips for reducing environmental impact. “Our aim is to make eco-conscious living simple and accessible. Through intuitive feedback and user-friendly controls, customers can maximise efficiency with every wash cycle,” Champion notes.

The dishwashers also feature AutoStart, allowing users to schedule cycles during off-peak electricity hours, further saving on energy costs. For even greater efficiency, G 7000 dishwashers can be connected to a hot water supply of up to 60°C, reducing energy consumption by up to 35% compared to a cold-water connection in the Mix program.

Miele’s commitment to sustainability and innovation

Miele’s Generation 7000 dishwashers exemplify the brand’s dedication to sustainability, advanced technology, and consumer needs. As Champion highlights: “At Miele, our focus is on building appliances that are not only highly effective, but also designed with the future in mind. The enhancements we’ve made to the G 7000 range underscore our commitment to leading in both performance and environmental stewardship.”
