Makes one large pizza

INGREDIENTS

For the Hash Brown Base:

  • 500g large potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste

For the Toppings:

  • 100ml tomato pasta sauce
  • 100g mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 100g streaky bacon, cooked until crispy
  • 125g baby button mushrooms, sliced and cooked until golden
  • basil leaves, for garnish
  • olive oil for cooking

METHOD

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes using the largest side of a box grater.
  2. Squeeze out excess liquid with a dishcloth.
  3. Microwave for two minutes to soften.
  4. Mix with flour, then fry in olive oil until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Transfer to a baking tray.

Step 2: Build Your Pizza

  1. Spread tomato sauce over the base.
  2. Top with cheese, bacon, and mushrooms.
  3. Grill until cheese is bubbling and golden.

Step 3: Serve and Enjoy
Slice, garnish with basil, and serve hot.
